2 week liquid diet, I'm hungry!

Recommended Posts

I'm really struggling today, day 6 of my pre-op diet. Yesterday I was feeling so good, full of energy. Today, I feel like I can't get enough, I'm so hungry! I think more so, mentally I'm just really feeling challenged. At the end of the day, I JUST want to eat something!!!! ????

Call your doctor and see if you can have something in addition to liquids. My preop diet consisted of two Protein Shakes (breakfast and lunch), two pieces of fruit (morning and evening snack) and a light dinner each night. They just might allow you to have something. But either way hang in there. You can do this. The payoff is so worth it.

Have you tried sipping on good tasting chicken broth? I went through this as well for 10 days at nearing day 6 I was really wishing I could have something. I called my doctor and the suggested either making some homemade broth or buying some mrs. Grass chicken noodle Soup with the little golden egg in it. They told me to cook it and strain the noodles.

Because it has a lot of salt in it, it really truly helped me get past those hard to deal with times plus it was a good savory to all the sweet of Protein Shakes.< /p>

I ended up making it all the way thru without cheating once.

It will be over soon! You can do this! Keep your eye on the prize.

Good luck!

Thanks, ladies. I am allowed to have non-starchy vegetables, and can cook w/ cooking spray in addition to 3-5 shakes. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that I'm able to have veggies, because I know some people cannot have really anything. I'm just having highs and lows with this diet. It's so hard!! Not easy to be cooking regular meals for my family, either. My nutritionist said if I absolutely have to, I can have a Lean Cuisine, as long as I'm under 1000 calories. Not usually a complainer, but WAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Lol!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
