Port Pain after Weightloss

Recommended Posts

So, I've had my band for about 8 months now. Within the last week, I have noticed some pain where my port is. It's not severe, just a little uncomfortable. It almost feels like a gas cramp, or a cramp you get when you are running. I have lost around 40 pounds, and a lot of it has come from my abdomen. My port is definitely a lot easier to feel now. You don't have to press very hard to feel it. I was just wondering if anyone else has had the same kind of issue, after losing weight. I don't see my doctor all that regularly, only if I have any problems. And I would like to avoid having to go in.

I was wondering about that.

It seems like as I loose weight my port would become less buried in my fat and would stick out more (... trying to think of a nicer way to word that)! LOL

I also wondered if it could become a problem in romantic situations?

Yes I have had pain in my port sight from the beginning. My surgury was September 05,and I have been at my goal weight for a year. My port sticks out of stomach you can definately see it. It does not bother my husband or any one else that has seen me in a bikini. If my port starts to hurt it is an indication that I am thirsty. After a few big glasses of Water it subsides. Hope this helps.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
