BCBS - 6 month monitored weight

Recommended Posts

So BCBS requires six months of recorded weight. This is my second month. I had no other appointments with my surgeon this month and was told I didn't need an appointment to be weighed. So I drove the 40 minutes to his office this morning, took time off of work, only to be told that the insurance changed. They now require you to be seen by the doctor every time you need your weight recorded. There were no doctors in the office until 1:00 pm today so they could not squeeze me in. Now I'm taking more time off of work to go back on Monday. It would have been nice if they called. Oh well, I just wanted to give those with BCBS coverage the information in case they want to give their doctor a call and schedule any needed weigh ins. Have a good day all!!

That's odd. I have BCBS of Alabama and was weighed by either the nutritionist or the nurse every time during my 6 month visits. I have only seen the doctor twice during my whole process, once at the beginning and once at the end.

I am curious becaue I have BCBS of Alabama. I have my final pre-op appt.tomorrow. I went to see my PCP once a month for 6 month to get weighed. The patient navigator at my surgeon's office is conerned that my PCP did not include detailed notes about our discussions regarding weight - they jut recorded my weight and blood pressure. Some of the appt. notes included discussion of diet and exercise and some did not. I will be so upset if they decline me over this.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
