My Journey Has Officially Started!

Recommended Posts

:D :D :D So I officially began my WLS journey today! I met with my surgeon for my consultation and it couldn't have gone any better. I feel so comfortable with my surgeon and his team. My doc is also the surgeon who I saw last year for another consult. It was comforting to go into his office and being recognized right away. This is a smaller program, so it is very personal.

I was lucky enough to have found you guys here so I knew what I wanted to ask and was able to also follow what he said.He told me that he was impressed with the knowledge I already have about RNY.

I will be seeing the NUT on Monday and am in the process of scheduling the psych eval, EKG, and lab work. I don't have to have mammo or scope because he did the scope on me in May & I'm current on my mammo.

I'm so excited! I feel great relief knowing that I'm taking control of my health again. Last Wed. I stopped smoking. I am using an e-cig to help, but I don't rely on it. I'm going to do this for ME! I deserve it!

Congratulations on taking the first step. Learning as much as you can does make the decision so much easier.

Best of luck and keep us posted.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
