Insurance Approval

Recommended Posts

I have no idea!

My surgeon is supposed to be having a conference call with the medical director over my case with the insurance company either tomorrow or Friday. Hopefully I will have more answers then.

Ok so I finally got my call from the insurance and it was a denial. OMG, I am so mad. It was denied because I don't have the 6 months they say of a supervised diet. Well when I 1st started this I called the insurance and asked quite a few questions the 1st one was do I need a 6 mo. supervised diet there answer was NO. The only reason I found out that you need 6 mo. is because the surgeons office has a few other patients with the same insurance and they scheduled them around the 3 mo mark and they were denied. Then when I knew I needed 6 mos I called them again and asked if my two mos Nutrisystem prior to the dr could be used. There response was YES as long as it was continuous and I had proof it was and I do. Well now here I am with a denial because we were told they no longer accept Nutrisystem or Weight Watchers. You talk about incompetient it is just unacceptable. My stomach is in knotts I had to do so much rearranging because I work two jobs and the 2nd one is cleaning houses so I wanted it done now so I would be available for the holiday season. I don't want to lose customers because of this an it was all working out now I just don't know what to do. Dr. office says to come in today and October is 6 mos with them and they will resubmit and hopefully it will be approved but I don't have much faith it will be done before next week when I have 4 appointments for this surgery. Ok I am don't whinning!!!! Thanks for listening...

You don't need to bring anything special. Change of clothes, toiletries, phone charger. Bring a pillow for the ride home to hold over your stomach.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
