  6. I finally got my approval and my surgery is the 14th. I don't have to do a two week diet just the day before. Guess I lucked out.
  7. Ok guys I got a call on Friday October 2 finally got an approval for my sleeve. Yahoooooooooooooo!!!! My surgery is October 14th I am so excited and of course scared. Give me some good advise on what I need to bring to the hospital.
  8. Ok so I finally got my call from the insurance and it was a denial. OMG, I am so mad. It was denied because I don't have the 6 months they say of a supervised diet. Well when I 1st started this I called the insurance and asked quite a few questions the 1st one was do I need a 6 mo. supervised diet there answer was NO. The only reason I found out that you need 6 mo. is because the surgeons office has a few other patients with the same insurance and they scheduled them around the 3 mo mark and they were denied. Then when I knew I needed 6 mos I called them again and asked if my two mos Nutrisystem prior to the dr could be used. There response was YES as long as it was continuous and I had proof it was and I do. Well now here I am with a denial because we were told they no longer accept Nutrisystem or Weight Watchers. You talk about incompetient it is just unacceptable. My stomach is in knotts I had to do so much rearranging because I work two jobs and the 2nd one is cleaning houses so I wanted it done now so I would be available for the holiday season. I don't want to lose customers because of this an it was all working out now I just don't know what to do. Dr. office says to come in today and October is 6 mos with them and they will resubmit and hopefully it will be approved but I don't have much faith it will be done before next week when I have 4 appointments for this surgery. Ok I am don't whinning!!!! Thanks for listening...

  12. I am also October 14th but I am still waiting for an approval from the insurance. I really don't understand what is taking so long it will be a month on October 1st. I am so anxious about this more so than the surgery. Maybe if an when I get the approval it will sink in that I am really getting this done.
  13. I have Empire Plan/United Healthcare and it requires 6 mos. continuous.
  14. Congrats. Very happy for you. Hope all goes well...
  15. IT is the worst my surgery is scheduled for October 14 what happens if I don't hear anything before that? My stomach is in knots all I want to do is eat. Uggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!
  16. I am getting so nervous I have been waiting since September 3 for an approval or denial from my insurance. I have called 3 times and all they keep telling me is that it is pending. I have Empire Plan/United Healthcare. Anyone else have that insurance and how long did it take to get a denial or approval? I guess I am more nervous because I am on the lower end of the BMI mine is 35.8 but I do have HBP and high cholesterol.
  17. Hi, I am new to this and I also had to quit smoking. I have quit for 6 weeks now and I am holding my weight but in order for them to schedule the surgery the Doctor requires me to lose 5% which because I am on the lower end with a BMI of 35.7 is only about 10 lbs. My god I am having a terrible time with it I just can't seem to stick with a diet to get off that weight. The doctor keeps saying I understand you have plenty of time, but at this rate I will never get the surgery. Really I am so happy that I quit and the last time I did was about 10 yrs ago and I put on 25lbs so if I look at it that way I have not put on any weight. I just think I should have taken off the weight then quit smoking.
