Horrible pain a week out

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this? I'm one week out and I have the worst pain lower left of my belly button. It's a searing pain that feels like something is ripping. I normally tolerate pain very well, but once this pain catches it stops me in my tracks. If so how long did this lay before you felt better??? Everything else is perfect.

@@ccdomaika I am still dealing with this sort of pain and I'll be three weeks out tomorrow. The severity of it comes and goes, and it has gone from a pulling/tugging/ripping feeling to a burning/achy feeling. My surgeon tells me that this is completely normal, as the left incision is where all the work was done, and where the internal sutures are. They cut through muscle and nerves and it takes time for those things to heal. He assured me that it will subside and to try to walk as much as possible to help strengthen the muscles and to help with recovery.

It is easier said than done!

Some people don't experience this pain, some people do. If you have some pain meds, they will help or even some OTC Tylenol will take the edge off for a little bit.

I hope you feel better soon. Just know what you're experiencing is common and you're not alone!

That sounds like the kind of pain I had with both of my c-sections. No where near the incision! It's kind of crazy & can be scary.

I overdid it one day and was in tears. The muscle was trembling. That was also the day I felt a few pops. A few days off rest later I was good as new. The office said it was most l likely where they cut into the muscle for that main port. I think I popped af few stiches that were bothering it and it felt better.

I'm 2 weeks out and am experiencing the same burning pain. It definitely feels like it is in the muscles. Glad to hear I'm not the only one.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
