Has anyone had a breast lift / breast implants?

Recommended Posts

Hi!!

I am three months out and am considering getting a breast lift. My mom doesn't think I should get it right now as I am still in the early stages and 19. She says my boobs will get back to normal soon, but I hate the way my breasts look when I'm not wearing a bra.

My boobs have shrunk a few sizes down since getting the surgery, but they're still pretty big.

I was wondering if anyone else has gotten a breast lift or breast implants? If so, how long did you wait? And how did it all go? This is something I really want as I hate how my boobs aren't the perkiest lol

Plastic surgeons I've heard speak (and consulted) say they won't do any plastic surgery on someone who isn't through losing weight and hasn't maintained their weight for at least a year.

So based on that, you've got quite a while to go before getting any boob surgery.

And based on my experience, your boobs and every other part of your body are going to go through so many more changes by the time you're through losing weight. Three months post-op doesn't bear any resemblance to how you'll wind up looking by the time you hit goal.

I would definately wait until you're weight loss has reached your goal and remained steady

I had a breast lift and augment at 11 months post-op. My surgeon had no rules about being at a stable weight. He simply told me that if I wanted the best results for plastics procedures I should be within 15% of my goal weight. My goal weight was 129 and I was 153 the day of my first surgery which is almost exactly at 15% above my goal. I have since hit my goal weight and my fake boobs look just as good as they did originally. When I was your age I had gone through significant weight loss and gain and I was not thrilled with my breasts. If I had known what I know now and if I had been able to keep my weight stable, I would have gotten a lift and implants when I was probably around 22.

My suggestion would be to wait until you are at 15% above goal at the soonest and then consult a surgeon. Getting them done any earlier would be a bit of a waste of money because you lose a lot of fat from the breast region. You want as much fat gone from there as possible before you get the implants.

I had mine done 18 months post WLS which was 6 months at goal. My breasts changed significantly during those six months and did regain some of their shape (not much though!). BUT that said, I'm not sure the results of my lift/aug would have been any different if I had had them right when I met goal. He would have just taken off more skin!

I am beyond thrilled with my results though I must say!

I have been told no TT or breast lift until I am at least a year out and have maintained for a while.

The one year rule seems to vary by surgeon. I'll be 5 months at the time of my plastics in December. I've lost 110% of my excess weight. My PS said I have no fat (really??). But I think being stable is the key. You don't want to go through all that and mess up the hard work !

For me a lift would not work. No fat, as I was told. I need implants. I'll be sharing the experience when the time comes.

Even though it's so sad to see the girls in the state they're in, their time will come. Be patient - don't rush.

I had a lift and implants at 2 years post op. I don't think it's time for you yet. Your body is going to change so fast, and you don't know what you'll be left with. Most surgeons are most likely going to require losing all your weight first. I would suggest getting some good bras that will augment you to the size you want to be. Just don't go bra-less. :)

My plastic surgeon did not have any time restrictions and my bariatric surgeon said as long as I am at my goal weight, go for it. I will be just shy of 7 months when I have my plastic surgery in December and I have 17 pounds to lose between now and then.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
