I ate a variety - or should I say tried a variety of things? Frankensleeve was very picky and we came to a truce over my re-fried Beans and ground turkey meat concoction.

I tried (I'm talkin 1 tablespoon!) Peanut Butter, boiled eggs, potted meat/chicken, ground chicken, and a few other things I'm sure I can't remember. Frankie was VERY PICKY! And he didn't like any of them. :-P

Is this what you all are having during week 3? pureed stage?

My surgeon told me I can try refried Beans today...

So I did. They stayed down pretty good.

I only had a tablespoon. But it was a slice of heaven. I also was told today that I can skip pureed. Just different methods I guess.

Go to mash and then regular food week 4.

Not saying one way is wrong or right. I'm going to keep asking questions and learning what is working for me and what's not.

@@kaysunshine - I was eating refried Beans, with the blessing of my medical team, a lot earlier than some did here, as well.

I was thrilled to eat a scrambled egg with cheese that Saturday morning (my surgery was the Wednesday before). It was heaven :D

Low fat refried Beans were my best friend during puree stage. I actually miss them and wonder if they would help me with my hunger? They are warm, tasty and filling. 2 ounces of heaven in a little tiny bowl.

For variety, you should also try hummus. There are tons of flavors and all with good Protein counts. I love black bean hummus. That was my first food of real substance and it was so savory I was literally dizzy from the experience!

Whenever I go out for Mexican I always end up getting a side of Beans and rice for my meal. For some reason the Beans at a restaurant taste way better than the canned variety.

Refried Beans were my hero during 3rd and 4th week. I love them. I added turkey Bone Broth to them to increase Protein and shredded cheese. Yummy!!

I loved refried Beans during the early days and had cans of them in the pantry. I decided to learn how to make them from scratch since I figured they'd taste better and they did. :D And they freeze well too, so I would do a big slow cooker batch and then portion them out and have a freezer full of delicious Beans to eat on.

Low fat (not) refried beans recipe:

I've use black beans, kidney beans and pintos in this and they all turn out wonderfully!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
