falling off the wagon

Recommended Posts

looking for some support - here's my long story made short.

I was scheduled for surgery 8/24 I got to the hospital and during pre-op work-up, I mentioned my sore throat. Also I had a low fever so the team sent me home with no surgery.

I rescheduled for October 5. My instructions for next few weeks were as follows- 1,000 diet, low carbs, nothing fried, low fat and no sugar until 6 days before the rescheduled surgery when I would resume Optifast (4 days) followed by 2 days of Clear liquids.

Been 2 weeks since the cancelled surgery and I can't seem to get back on track. I worked SO hard the first time (was very exacting) and was so in the mode, and now my sugars are up, so is my weight, and I am feeling lousy.

How can I get back on track? Frustrated and disappointed with myself!

I can get that-- being so geared up for a certain day and then things falling apart when the surgery didn't happen.

I would recommend putting the failure behind you. It happened and now it's over.

You have 4 weeks until surgery so all is not lost. Monday is a great day to start back on track. Make sure you log your foods and keep the goal in mind. Good Luck!

Hang in there. Old habits are tough to break. If you fall off the horse, just get back up and keep going.

Life knocks you down, and the difference between winning and losing is just that winners get back up one more time than they get knocked down. Think of it like this. If you have a child, how many times do they have to fall down before you stop trying to teach them how to walk? The answer is there is no limit.

It sucks slipping up. Just try to learn from it, and keep going. I know you can do it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
