Well even if you gain some weight, your insurance will already be approved. Your gonna lose weight on the liquid diet for the 2 weeks. I was more active at work and walk alot so that helped with me losing weight before surgery. Since surgery though, I've lost 7 pounds already. I did cream of broccoli Soup tonight and it went down okay. I'm just worried over over eating. Which I don't really. But this whole getting full thing, is hard

Do you feel full or just stop after eating a couple ounces?

I just stop after a couple bites. It's so hard not to drink Water after bites too. Definitely with yogurt since it's so thick. I will probably talk to Thompson on Wednesday about how to eat and how to figure everything out.

So I don't think Soup and yogurt settle with me due to my milk intolerance. I woke up with a tummy ache and have had it pretty much all day off n on. I also haven't been to the bathroom in a week so that probably doesn't help. I will try Miralax tommrow since I'm past 5 days. I am also having really bad left side pain like I pulled a muscle so I probably did while trying to clean up around my house a little bit. I've been taking it easy today. I am also having some back pain to where it feels so tired but can't relax. My body feels like that too. Like I'm anxious. I don't think my body is used to me being such a bum lately. I am usually working or cleaning. I also don't have good posture due to my insicions. I'm relaxing now in my recliner in my bedroom with the heating pad

Good morning everyone! So it's a bit after 7am and I am up. Went to bed at like 3am. I only sleep like 4 hours and I'm up. It suckssss. I'm talking to Dr. Thompson on Wednesday to see what's going on and how I can be back to sleeping better.

So yesterday was my 1st week post op. I actually felt pretty good. My insicions aren't really bothering me anymore. Their getting smaller too. I'm still wanting food pretty bad but I just try to keep myself busy and not think about it. This is the hardest part. I see some people talk about puree chicken or tuna salad. I think I'm definitely trying that when I start next month. There's no way I'm puree everything. I mean I will with fruit but no vegs or meats. I might try baby food but I doubt it lol. The nutritionist said there's a book on our list that we get for her class that is really good for the puree stage so I might see which one. I'm definitely thinking about puree chili even too. I like meat spaghetti sauce alot. April 13th is the soft stage.....it can't come soon enough

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Sounds like things are getting better for you Molly. Great job on 11 pounds! I'm a side sleeper so I am a little worried about getting comfortable at night after surgery. I only get 3-4 hours at a time of sleep at night anyway because either the dog wakes me up to go out or I have to pee. Look on Pintrest for some pureed foods or Youtube, you'd be suprised how tasty some of the recipes are. After researching I feel pretty confident about meal prepping during the pureed stage. Some of the meals were stuff my family could eat in its regualr form, so no prepping two different meals.

I'm still waiting on precert. Hopefully I'll hear something this week.

It might be rough for you to sleep in bed for the first couple nights. I tried sleeping in bed by day 3. It hurt a little bit and pulled my an muscles on the left side. So I took some milk of magnesia last night and since 11pm I've had watery stools. I woke up at 8am feeling nauseous and stomach pains. I'm thirsty too. I'm waiting for my mother in law to get out of Church then I'm going to Good Sam to make sure I don't have a leak. Or what's going on. I've only had like maybe 3 hours of sleep. I'm so tired. I'm freezing cold too but my husband was bad and had the ac on last night. Turned it down to 69 without me knowing. So I'm wrapped up in sweats, hoodie and a blanket. Drinking some Water.< /p>

Take a deep breath, let's think this through.

Do you have a fever? The watery stools is probably normal since you just started eating something other than liquids. And the thirst could be dehydration from watery stools. If you have no fever, you're not vomiting,, and you have periods of things going well it could just be part of the process. You are going to have good/bad days.

If you are still worried go see the MD, but I would probably go to West Chester and not Good Sam. Did you call the MD office and speak to whoever is on call today?

I'm doing okay. I didn't call our office which I should have but I just didn't want to risk anything more by waiting on the phone. I was getting worse as time went on. I was just dehydrated a bit and all of my labs came back great. They called the doctor on call while I was there. My stomach is super sore feeling and is trying to adjust back to normal. Between vomiting last weekend and loose stools this weekend. It's probably so worn out. Thanks for all the advice. I just didn't want to risk any chances.

Glad you're okay. Did you get any fluids while you were there? Are you feeling any better? Did they check for a leak? I know it must have been scary. Hang in there.

I did get fluids. I got frustrated at first because when I told them what was going on, the lady who checked me in was like you know all of your symptoms are apart of your surgery right? Like no really? I have a super dry mouth to where I can't even produce saliva and can't pee. I've been fine since I took that medicine last night. My body drank a bag of fluids within an hour. It was thirsty. I asked about checking me for a leak and they said since my labs weren't bad and my stomach sounded okay then it probably wasn't one. I would be in alot more pain too and more sick. I'm sure she told the on call doctor what was going on too. My stomach still feels like sore feeling like I'm getting over a virus. The thought of food makes me sick.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
