Morning hon! Doing ok - staples come out tomorrow lunchtime, I had to push them back a few hours as I have a final interview at 8am....bit nervous about going into Central London with the staples in as they pinch (and fuck they itch!!!!)

Still not needed painkillers since I came home, not thrown up once, no "dumping syndrome" episodes, gas pain gone (highly recommend getting a neck/shoulder/scalp massage it helped in a huge way).

If the meeting tomorrow is what I think it is, I am just going in to sign the contract, will probably start Wednesday and work from home for a few days, then in the client's office next week.

Have gotten through 3 seasons of Nashville in 2 weeks :P

Hey BCs - you will be fine hon - I only puked about 6 times post op - and it was all due to my asthma flaring from the anesthetic, and the contrast dye they use to make sure you are sealed up tight. Take the antinausea meds they give you for a day, two max but you wont need it after that. And get a massage on your back and shoulders in a chair around day 5 - it helped me no end.

Waiting for the train to get to the hospital :)

Last night I dreamt I forgot I was fasting and ate some Papadums. I was freaking out that my surgery would be cancelled.

I was at the Mater. I found the surgery

really rough. I am still in shock. Trying to drink enough Water but every sip is such a huge effort. I can't wait until it passes.

How is everyone else going?

Hey fellow Aussies! Sydney girl here. I'm having sleeve done on 20th Oct. Am on day 3 of pre op diet. Major headaches as caffeine and sugar withdrawals play havoc lol but today is better than yesterday :)

God I would kill for some Cottees GI Cordial cant get it over here. Did manage to get some Aussie Milo yesterday - 20g is a little Protein kick to my mid-morning milk.

BCs: The Mater was up the road from where I used to live. Good hospital. I was in a state in post op and for the first 12-18 hours, then it got easier, hopefully it will for you as well. Just try to keep sipping, I fund changing position and walking as much as possible helped a lot wit the gas pains. And a shoulder/upper back massage in a few days will help as well.

NewNetty: Can you use stevia as a sugar substitute so you can still have tea/coffee? Each day teh pre-op diet will get easier, you will find your appetite will shrink, and if you keep jamming Water in your system your stomach wont rumble.

It really does get easier, I didn't believe that. The hunger gradually subsides as do the headaches. The first few days are a killer. Just think of it as a big head start on your weigh loss :)

Hi Newnetty! Welcome. Glad you've chosen to do your journey with us! The preop diet is hard but think of it as a small step towards your new life.

I'm 5 weeks post op. Very frustrated by not losing anything much the last 2 weeks. Then again I've had a shocking flu and have basically been lying in bed. But for the amount I'm eating, I'd still expect loss. Actually kicking myself I didn't do a proper measuring as my clothes definitely all loser. In fact my biggest clothes just hang now. Jeans that wouldn't come near doing up are comfy again so I'm taking that as good signs. Hoping to get moving this week!! Starting today - up the coast for the long weekend. Already had a swim in the beach and in the pool. Getting some Vitamin D.

Eating wise I am still officially on soft diet and fish is my favorite but I've tried a bit of cucumber, soft chicken. Very tempted to dip some toast in a boiled egg but not going to push it that far.

No problems at all - my tummy tells me when I've had enough.

Anyone else had a stall of a few weeks??

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
