Where are all the 50 something bypass patients?

  • Popular Post

I constantly run into Sleevers in their 50s and 60s but I would love to get to know some of you who are bypassers. Seems our life experiences and potential difficulties may make us good support for each other! (You know, little things like menopause, arthritis, etc...). Please come out of "hiding" and gather here. I need to see yall in action! And would love to support you as well!

Frustr8, I am so sorry for your loss. The brotherhood of Kevin's is very strong! Every Kevin I meet is special. Please know that I am sure if I had the opportunity to ride with your son it would have been special and great for us both. After all bikers are a rare breed. Keep strong and I know that is easier said than done. Remember that we are all in this journey for the goal to have better health and a long and full life! Thank you for your post and well wishes.

I had gastric bypass last year when I was 56.
I joined silver sneakers people are really nice. And I recently found a friend who jogs with me and my dog 3 times a week. This has been good for me you should try it
My son’s name is Kevin as well. He was killed by someone who didn’t Slow Down or Move Over as is the law in MA. He was loading a disabled vehicle onto his flatbed tow truck and was struck and killed instantly by someone who didn’t. He was 22 and my baby. He would be 25 now.
And I’m 57, had my RNY June 11,2018.

Wow, very sorry for your loss. ?
@nurse4126 and he was helping others when that happened, that makes him A HERO. And I think he has a very special mother also. ?Sunshine today and smiles? on your journey.
I had my VSG 3/28/18. I decided last sept, my 51st bday I was ready. My insurance was a 6 mo deal.. I’m actually glad it was, gave me time to prepare. HW-317/SW-299/CW-251. I am very happy
I am here about 6 weeks from d day
I am 65 and ready to be thinner and healthier in about 6 weeks

I just got a letter from my insurance co. informing me that I was approved for the surgery. So happy! Just waiting on the Dr. to catch up and schedule me for for a consultation and then the surgery.

So anxious to get started on a healthier me!

Are you having your surgery there in the Nutmeg State? Certainly don't have to go to Boston or into NYC, you probably have Yale-New Haven and such right around the corner. Congratulations and hopeful wishes for the future, my friend.

Thanks so much! I am having it done at Roger Williams in RI- they are actually the closest center for excellence for me. So happy I will be joining the ranks of the losers!!!

And you will, me and you both, I don't have my day either but I should this week. And since,i am a history buff, I know who Roger Williams was. I Will have mine at OSU- Wexner Medical Center in Columbus Ohio, based in our state's Land Grant University, A Level 1 Trauma Center and a Center of Excellence since the phrase was first coined. Drowned my fears in my tears a long tortured time ago, now looking forward to my REBIRTHDAY I probably will make it just under c the wire for July if they insist on the 14 day liquid prediet. Wish I could talk them into 7 days or less. Just want to get this show on the road!?
