So I'm 4 weeks post op and I think I've hit my first stall. Well I think I have...I really don't know?!? I'm down 40lbs since surgery. I've been following my plan and have not lost a single pound this week. Thankfully, I have not gained any but???????????? has anyone else experienced this so early in your WLJ?!?

yes. The "three-week stall" is a very common phenomenon (doesn't always happen at exactly three weeks, but somewhere around there. I stalled out weeks 2 and 3 and then dropped six lbs week 4.

I stalled at 5 weeks for two weeks, than at 7 weeks I lost 4 lbs. I just continued my diet and up my workout as I was frustrated. I did two miles on treadmill then four on a bike and did weights. After I killed myself in the gym that night the next day I lost a pound and started losing again. Just make sure you are getting in your vitamins and water:)

I was probably the most eager patient ever when the day finally came for my gastric bypass. Now I am four weeks post op and have a net loss of four pounds. Holding firm for two weeks. Was loosing much better with the pre-op protein shakes (40 lbs). This surgery is a joke. I follow the prescribed diet to a T. Except..., out of curiosity I did exceed the 3 oz of food and ate a few spicy Doritos one evening. Not one sign of stomach upset. All that "dumping syndrome" etc crap is just a scare tactic? I am pissed to think I have gone thru surgery, taken grief from family with zero results. Would have been better off without it.

I am 8 months out & have lost 135 lbs. Dumping syndrome is no joke it will happen. Cut out sweets,fried foods,bread. Eat lean meats,vegetables, & lots of water. Best thing I've ever done. Exercising everyday. My.life has been given back to me. Off of insulin. Got 80 more lbs to go. I'll get there in April. I love the new me.

You have to reprogram your brain towards food. I missed coffee the worse. I could drink Decaf but it wasn't the same. Now 8 months later I can drink regular coffee. Still can't drink carbonated drinks. Don't lose sight of the long term goal. I set monthly goals. I walk 3 miles 4 days a week. I go to the gym 3 days a week. I eat right now. And I'm getting results & so will you. Just take it one day at a time & ignore anybody being negative. This will work & in 1 1/2 yrs you'll be so glad you did it. Hang in there & Good Luck

Don't lose hope. It will get better! You didn't have the surgery for nothing ok? Be encouraged! Stick with the diet and go somewhere you like to go and walk around, thinking positively about your weight loss goals and congratulating yourself on how well you're doing. This is not easy. If it was everyone would do it. You can do it!!!
