  1. Overall I’m pretty pleased. Been a long slow journey. I started at 410 lbs. Currently at 225 lbs. Want to lose 25-30 more lbs. No longer Diabetic which means no more insulin shots. No more sleep apnea & no more Neuropathy in my feet. Off all 10 of my medications. Have not gained back a single pound. Completely changed the way I eat & exercise everyday. Gym workouts & a 3 mile daily walk is the norm. I’m really proud my A1C was 5.6. Bout as good as it gets. Blood Pressure & Cholesterol levels perfect. Main thing is I feel great. Hope to finally hit my goal next year. Still eat about 1500 calories a day. I like the new me & looking forward to the better me.

    Exercise

Thank you Mariposa. Good Luck to you. Set short term goals. Weekly or even daily goals. Time passes fast. You can do this. Change your eating habits. Lean meats & veggies, no sugar, no sodas, no fast foods. I also gave up bread & pasta. Get plenty of protein. I have a Premiere protein shake for breakfast everyday. 30 grams of protein. Incorporate cardio into your lifestyle. Eating right plus exercise is the key to your success. It’ll be a month or two before you get back to regular food. The hard part is over. A great future lies ahead for you

    Exercise

You can walk a lil bit right away. Down to the corner & Back. Increase a lil bit everyday. In a week to 10 days start with a mile & build up. I walk 3 miles everyday for the last 3 yrs. Lost 185 lbs so far. Have 40 more to go

    Regret

In time you'll realize this is one of the best things you could've done to better your health. Results will come. Just do what they tell you. Maybe a family member or friend can help you out till your back on your feet. Maybe the Landlord can work with you or maybe get a personal loan. You should be able to go back to work within a couple of weeks. Good Luck to you.

    Re-introduction

I'm about 2 1/2 yrs out. Have lost 185 lbs with no regain. I walk 3 miles everyday to keep it off. I'd like to lose 40 more but Ive been stalled a while. Stay away from trigger foods & eat the way your supposed to & you'll be fine My meals are 6 oz of lean chicken or fish & 2 veggies. Don't drink with your meal. Protein shake for breakfast every morning. Take all your vitamins everyday. I have 2-3 snacks a day. Sugar free fruit cup or jello or sugar free pudding or popsickles. Fruit & fudgesickle are only 40 calories. As much as your working doubt you can exercise much. But try to do a little bit. Stay focused on the basics No sugar, no fried food, no fast food, no sodas or alcohol, no bread, pasta potatoes, or rice. Eat your protein first then veggies. It's great you've stayed on track without regain. Keep it up & you'll be fine. Good Luck to you. I live in Mesquite just outside of Dallas

    Good Luck to you Sugarburger

    Regain

No sweets at all. Go back to basics. Lean meat, veggies, no sugar, no pasta, no bread, no fried food, no fast food. I exercise a lot & eat 1500 calories/day. Try walking 4-5 days a week. An hour each time. If you want to reset your pouch drink protein shakes for your meals in the day & 1 healthy meal in the evening. Do this for 2 days & your pouch will reset. Mine had stretched a lil because I was eating too much. I reset mine last week & can really tell the difference. You just fell off the wagon a lil. Time to refocus & get back on track. Good Luck to ya
  11. 19 more lbs to hit my goal. Weight loss has come to a stop. I exercise daily with 3 mile walks & lift weights at the gym 3 days a week. Eat around 1500 calories a day. Starting weight was 410. Today 229. Lost 18 inches in waist. Went from 6XL shirt to XL. No longer diabetic. No more insulin shots. No more Neuropathy or Sleep Apnea. I feel 100% better. Maybe this is all I can lose. Frustrated it's all came to a halt. Would've liked to hit my goal weight of 210. I am thankful for what I have lost. Going to keep trying thru the Summer. Maybe 180 lbs is all I can lose

    June sleeve. A little shaky!

8 lbs in a week is going to be tough. The only way I know of is liquid fast. 3 protein shakes a day & that's it. You'll get all the nutrition you'll need. And walk everyday. 3 miles if you can. At least 1 & do it every day. I did a 2 week liquid fast using Premier Protein Shakes. Hardest thing I've ever done but I lost 35 lbs in 2 weeks. Good Luck I'm 2 years post op & have lost 185 lbs

    Unsolicited advice

I exercise a lot. I walk 3 miles 5 days a week. I go to the gym & lift weights 3 days a week. I gave up Fast Food, Sodas, Fried Foods, Sugar, Alcohol, Bread & Pasta. Drink a Protein Shake for Breakfast. Eat 3 small meals 3 hours apart. They average 300 calories each. I have 2 or 3 snacks a day. Protein is mainly grilled chicken or fish with veggies. I'm now used to eating this way. Everybody is different but this is what worked for me. Ive lost 180 lbs in 2 yrs. Got 20 more to go. Good Luck to you. Hope you figure it out.

I'm 2 years out & need to lose 30 more. I'm just going to stick with it. Exercise is key for me

    Liquid diet

Just get back on it & stay focused. If cooking is going to make you fall off the wagon don't cook. Family needs to be supportive. This is probably the hardest thing I ever did. 2 week fast was hard. As long as you don't cheat again you'll be fine. Good Luck Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    My story

Good Luck to you. I'm 1 year 11 months post op. I weighed 410. Now I weigh 245. Walking will be easier when you lose more weight. I could barely walk a 1/2 mile. Now I walk 4-5 every day. I also lift weights at the gym 3 days a week. That has increased my metabolism & really has helped me. I eat grilled chicken & fish daily. Lots of vegetables & salads. No fast food, alcohol, fried food, sweets, bread, sodas, or Pasta. It's tough at first especially when you're used to double cheeseburgers & large fry. I don't miss that now. You get used to it & you will love the new you. I drink Premiere Protein shakes for my Breakfast for 2 years now. Drink whatever works for you. 1 year from now you'll be amazed at your results. I still have 45 lbs to go. Hopefully I'll get there by Summer. Good Luck to you Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
