Self Pay - Will Travel

Recommended Posts

Looking for a reasonable US self pay option that specifically caters to out-of-towners (am also researching the Mexico option). Thanks!

I went through BariatricPal and it was all inclusive. The price is extremely reasonable. They took very good care of me and made sure all of my needs were met. I chose Dr Jesus Martin Lopez and I am convinced his expertise is the reason I have had NO issues. I was barely sore. I was walking immediately. No nausea. And I healed very well. The Santa Fe clinic may not be as fancy as some facilities but the Dr and his staff and all of the doctors working there are amazing! I was sleeved on 6-15 and will be traveling there with a friend for her to be sleeved on 8-15. I am within a few pounds of a 40 pound loss and hope to reach that by next week. Going out of the country can be intimidating for some but they are professional and friendly and go above and beyond to take care of you. Highly recommended

Dr. Umbach in Las Vegas has gotten lots of good reviews here, and many of his patients are self-payers who travel in from other states.

I hear great things about Dr. Fernando Garcia and Dr. Guillermo Alvarez in Mexico. I had considered Mexico and had selected Dr. Garcia. I also looked at Dr. Alvarez -- he seems to be absolutely top-notch -- but he was about $5K more than Dr. Garcia and I just couldn't afford that. In my case, insurance did end up approving me so it wasn't an issue in the end.

I chose Star Medica facility in Juarez, Mexico. The facility is a newer hospital and is the official hospital of the U.S. Embassy in Juarez. Huge private rooms and the lowest rate of infection I could find (that is US and Mexico).

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
