I had my surgery 7.13. I stayed in the hospital 2 days. I'm not nauseous, gas pains are minimal and pass very quickly and I'm able to hold down my liquids just fine but my stomach muscles are kicking my butt. Before yesterday I was only comfortable laying flat on my back - now I'm able to sit up at a slight recline but still can't sit up straight. It is a struggle to get up and I can't really sit up for very long, or stand long enough to shower so my mom and sister has to wash me up. It's been rough. I was prescribed Norco and later Percocet but neither eased the pain that I feel when engaging my stomach muscles. I was just wondering if anyone else had this experience? I went to the ER, and back to my surgeon and they don't seem to think anything is wrong but I thought with being almost 2 weeks I would be able to be a bit more mobile than I am. I don't know if having a hernia repaired or removed (whatever they did) would add to my down time but I thought I would mention that as well. Thanks in advance for your input! :)

I was sleeved 7-6 on my third day I strained my abdominal muscles & was in serious pain, I called my dr he said I pulled the stitches in the ab wall, that was some major pain, I couldn't walk, stand, stretch, lean over, or barely get in bed, after laying on my back when I would first get up it would feel better for a very short time. This is my third wk post op I am better but sometimes certain moves make it hurt so bad, it has been tough for me & I like to think I have a high pain tolerance but this pain has been over my limit! I used Tylenol 3 & those salon pas pain Patches, I haven't had any pain meds in 2 days but when I feel like it's going to hurt I put a patch on, you can get them anywhere. Good luck hang in there each day gets better!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
