What Gives With the Long Term VSG Posts?

Recommended Posts

I am so very disappointed in Bariatric Pal Website. They continue to remove the post about Long Term VSG simply because they don't want to pay to advertise on the site. That is quite ridiculous considering it is a weight loss forum. So in other words, unless a company advertises on the site, we can't share our journey on the site. How sad is that?

business runs the world. What you think this website and all the server space and bandwidth is just paid for out of Alex's good will?

They take on advertising as a way of life, if they allow free advertising then why would anyone else pay?

This isnt Facebook and Alex isnt a billionaire.

I'd like to clear up some things.....

1) We informed LTVSG that we can no longer allow them to advertise on our site or be affiliated with them.

2) We did remove the LTVSG topic. I am sorry it's inconvenienced some of our members. You can easily receive and provide the support necessary on BariatricPal, but please do not mention LTVSG in the topic or posts.

There were multiple reasons why we stopped our relationship with LTVSG. Initially, I was extremely excited that we were able to have a company offer Gastric Sleeve surgery for only $3000. I know so many individuals that can't afford to have surgery in the states or at more expensive surgeons in Mexico. I thought it sounded too good to be true and usually you get what you pay for but I went along with it since I've had a good relationship over many years with the individual running LTVSG.

I received a few PMs and emails from members that had surgery with LTVSG who were very unhappy. I decided to investigate these claims myself and found two major issues:

  • JL Prado Surgical Center is a subpar surgical center and has many issues.
  • LTVSG is trying to bait and switch customers by trying to upsell them at $4500 for a better Hospital or surgical facility.

I hope this clears up the issue.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
