So I am new to this but here we go! I am 23 and extremely over weight. I decided to get wls because I can't get rid of the weight on my own. I have tried every option and nothing I have found has worked. If I keep up the way I am I will be gone before my 40s and that can't happen! My mom is the one who actually planted the idea of wls in my head. She has had the lap band for 9 or so years and has had amazing success. I have gotten a chance to see the good and the ugly of what could happen(and that is not an exaggeration). Because of having the chance to see this I was a bit more scepictical of having the surgery, but I have sat down and spoke to my pcp and the sergon and we all agree that the gastric sleeve is the best option and something that needs to be done. I don't have a date yet I should know that in the next 2 weeks or so. Well that's just a little bit about me and where I'm at, any advice or support would be amazing! Well yall have a beautiful day!!!!

No real advice other than read posts here (that's what I did before my surgery) and ask lots of questions.

Good luck!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
