Recommended Posts

I am feeling nervous and depressed when I think about how much of my social life and activities are linked to eating and drinking. Anyone else have these feelings?

It changes but you get use to it. Eventually you will just eat a few bites of whatever. You can still socialize and eat you will just get to talk more because your mouth won't stay full The whole time!!!

I too am worried about the pre-diet. Like you - my social life is meeting friends for dinner or happy hour and going to hear live music with a picnic dinner. With the pre-diet - I am fearful of cheating. Because I know I will be hungry. But, I am limiting my social life during that time period. But I still worry - if I am home alone, I'll be hungry and still want to eat.

Once I have the surgery, I am not as worried. I know that I won't be hungry. Thus, I won't feel the need to limit my social life. I probably will the first two weeks after surgery, just because I'll be recovering and still on a liquid diet, but after that - I look forward to going out to eat - and ordering something like an appetizer and Water and not being able to finish it. Think of the money you'll save!

Am 5 days into pre op and am now feeling depressed and scared of all you just said. At the moment, I feel like I'll never again have a normal life, I know better but that's how it feels. It's also hard on my wife who is not doing this and that's making it even harder, even though she's very supportive. Struggling mightily

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
