I normally eat Dannon Light Greek which is low cal, low carb, low sugar. Chobani Flips are so darn tasty but range from 190 - 250 calories. Are these considered healthy? I try to stay around 500-600 cal a day but eating these, I'll have to bump that up a bit. Any thoughts?

I personally do not count calories or fat. Just carbs and sugar. My goal is always 0 carbs a day but i probably eat about 10-20 a day. Yogurt has so many carbs and sugar, even light ones, to me it is not worth the carbs. My suggestion is Cottage cheese, full fat has less carbs and sugar. If you wanna make it sweet add a little bit of Cool whip, again, don't get the fat free or light, they add sugar to it, regular is your best bet. and if you want to add a flavor, sprinkle a little bit of sugar free Jello powder on it.

I use to be a huge yogurt fan, but haven't touched it since the surgery, the nutritional value just seems off to me.

Oh and of course add a little flavorless Protein powder to anything to boost your Protein, it goes well with my cottage cheese concoction, i don't put a ton, just a bit, a few extra grams of protein is always good!

This is all just my opinion and what i have done since my surgery, hopefully it helps?

I am not certain, but I believe that the flips have a reduced Protein amount. I disagree with CatLu86 regarding yogurt. There are many beneficial digestive enzymes in it. It is also high in Protein. That being said, you do need to watch your dairy intake. I suspect that it contributed to my awful Constipation issues. It is interesting to me that your caloric goal is 500 - 600 calories a day when you are (according to your signature column) more than 6 months out. Is this your goal for calories, or your nutritionist's? My surgery was 2/10/15, and my NUT has encouraged me to eat between 800 - 1000. You may be getting too few calories.

I think I would compare the nutrition labels and see which is better for you. Personally, I'm looking at sugar right now. Some of those yogurts are crazy high.

@@lclemur Hi there, no I joined this site Dec 2014, surgery date 5/6/15. However, I do still feel that my calorie count is too low. I eat 3 tiny meals a day without Snacks. :)

Thanks for your response!!

You can make room for the calories as long as the Protein and mostly sugar content work for you and your plan.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
