My story begins at age 12, my parents divorced (a very bad divorce). My mother who was the proverbial women scorned, trash talked my dad every chance she got. She would tell my brother, sister & I that our dad didn't want anything to do with us, and of course my dad being active duty got orders to Puerto Rico, and left shortly after they separated. Being the age we were we believed what she said after all he didn't call or write us all the while my mom was sending letter and gifts back and changed our phone number so he couldn't call. Feeling unwanted I turned to food for comfort. Fast forward to high school after graduating I weighed over 200 pounds. A year to the day of marrying my high school boyfriend I was pregnant 15 months after the birth of our first daughter I delivered our second and last child. Upon being discharged I weighed myself and was floored that I weighed the same as I did before having a 7 pound baby. Fast forward to August 21, 2011, I had gastric bypass. I lost weight quickly in all I lost about 125 pounds. I was over the moon that I was finally skinny my lowest weight was 128. I wouldn't change a thing I would do it again. BUT I worry all the time that I will wake up and weigh 260. Right now I have maintained my weight of 150-155 for a year. But lately I feel like I am slipping back to my bad habits. What can I do to get back on track with healthy eating and good food choices? I am so depressed that I am going to fail. I keep a log of everything I eat and have tons of motivation quotes to help. I have a high stress job and recently realized I am a stress eater, what can I do to get back to healthy eating habits and loose 10 pounds so that I can reach my goal weight of 145.

It sounds like you've answered your own question--- can you see your way clear to change jobs, so you can have one that is less stressful!

Best wishes.

Congratulations on your successful weight loss!

I would honestly recommend that you see a therapist that specializes in bariatric patients. They will be able to help you get that stress eating under control so you can continue to feel great!

The good news is you recognize the warning signs now.

Good luck to you!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
