Hey there September sleevers! Any one out there?

Hi! I just started my journey and I am looking forward to chatting with those of you who are on a similar time-frame as myself. My insurance is Cigna so they require a 3 month supervised diet, psych eval and sign off from my primary (which I am worried about, I haven't seen him in 5 years so what if he wont sign off? should I find someone new? suggestions?)

I am aiming for an early September surgery date, my Dr. said it is doable! I am excited and nervous.

I have learned so much already from reading about everyone else's experience it has really helped to calm me down.

I feel like I am obsessed with this and it's all I can think about. I have probably watched 200 youtube videos so far. LOL

Any tips, tricks or advice is welcome and appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

It seems like it has taken forever to get here but here I am! September 3rd! I leave at 4:00 a.m. for the hospital. Excited. A wee bit nervous and I haven't slept a wink. Instead I have been cleaning

So glad I found this post! I will need to go back and read up :)

I am converting from band to sleeve on September 23rd. After 14 years I want the band out but I am not going to lie, I am scared. Getting hiatal hernia repair also so it will be a big surgery.

My surgeon does not require a preop diet but I am going to try and eat clean and do protein shakes starting tomorrow.

Can you guys tell me what your favorite shakes are and what to look for in a shake? I want to try a couple. I will be traveling 4 hours for surgery and staying in a hotel for 10 days so premade is best but don't mind having powder suggestions for when I get back home.

Again, so glad I found you guys :)

My doctor doesn't require a preop diet either but I gave up all carb week one and starting tomorrow (Friday) I'll put my self on a liquid diet to make sure my liver is where it needs to be surgery is the 18th (bitting my nails) nervous is a understatement I've never had surgery other then oral. Keep pushing guys we are all almost on the other side

@@VDLT I am day 8 on my all liquid preop diet and I am starving but taking one day at a time with help of people in the room as I have had to be talked off the ledge a couple of times lol. I love the Boost Glucose Control drinks as they especially the chocolate are good, no after taste.

Tomorrow is the big day!! :)

Good Luck wih your Surgery!!

@@longjohs I'm Monday too!

???? Good Luck!!

Preop diet day 1 complete, 13 more days. It was ok, but I'm hoping it gets easier...

I live in London, but I am from Sydney Australia :)

@@Shotochick ooooh you are from England? I'm SUCH an anglophile, I watch so many British shows.

Good luck everyone! The pre-op diet is HARD. It definitely gets easier post op. I was having some major hunger pains, POST OP on my 5 and 6 nights post op. I read on another website that a surgeon (? wrote a book, maybe a Hispanic name) discussed this as being inflammation in your stomach that feels like physical hunger. I'm not talking mental hunger here. He recommended Gavisccon (sp?) and it has helped. I was scared my sleeve wasn't working. It's amazing how the pounds just melt off the first couple of weeks. Although you're not eating much. I feel so much better already.

It does I'm on day 5, in 2 more days I go totally clear liquid + 3 peotein shakes.

Monday, September 14th is my date, what is everyone bringing to the hospital with them or if you already was sleeved, what do you recommend I bring?

9/14, totally nervous and looking for buddies.

I'm the same day, congratulations, keep me updated

@@byebyefat i'm taking comfortable pjs and bedroom shoes to walk around the hospital in, gas ex strips (because literally everyone I know talks about how bad the gas pains are after surgery) books, my heating pad and laptop.

My surgery date was 9/1/2015. I took deodorant, toothbrush/toothpaste, panties, and a change of clothes. I also took my iPad and kindle as you get pretty bored although you're not feeling great.
