Hey there September sleevers! Any one out there?

Hi! I just started my journey and I am looking forward to chatting with those of you who are on a similar time-frame as myself. My insurance is Cigna so they require a 3 month supervised diet, psych eval and sign off from my primary (which I am worried about, I haven't seen him in 5 years so what if he wont sign off? should I find someone new? suggestions?)

I am aiming for an early September surgery date, my Dr. said it is doable! I am excited and nervous.

I have learned so much already from reading about everyone else's experience it has really helped to calm me down.

I feel like I am obsessed with this and it's all I can think about. I have probably watched 200 youtube videos so far. LOL

Any tips, tricks or advice is welcome and appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

It seems like it has taken forever to get here but here I am! September 3rd! I leave at 4:00 a.m. for the hospital. Excited. A wee bit nervous and I haven't slept a wink. Instead I have been cleaning

I don't know about the rest of you but I just had a moment where I realized that next 4th of July I will be nearly half my size. It made me *SMILE* Happy 4th everyone!!

I saw a few posts up some stuff on the sleep study. My doctor made me go through that because that is what she does with all of her patients. She even said that she did not believe I had apnea and I have never had a problem with snoring. I'm the end, I do have apnea and now a cpap. I notice a difference in how rested I feel. Bizarre.

I just found the forum this week and think this might be really helpful. I just got my surgery scheduled for Sept 10. Could you please add me to the fun group? Scout2014@sbcglobal.net

Hi! and Welcome! your invitation has been sent, once you get it I will get a notification and approve it (so don't panic if you can't get in initially) :)

Great news all around. Still waiting for my date. Very nerve wracking. Won't seem real until then. Trying to keep my spirits up abt it tho.

it will happen!

Mine is scheduled for September 10th!! I am so excited!!

I know, just really anxious. Can't wait to start my journey to a better quality of life. Already made lits of changes to prepare. Everyone in our group has dates and I'm so glad for them. But makes me want mine badly too. ????

I did a sleep study. It said I didn't have sleep apnea, but I did have a mild upper respiratory sleep disruption...

I had surgery last Tuesday. That nght in the hospital, I set off my oxygen sensors 3 times before they put me on oxygen. I took it off twice in my sleep, and both times, I set off the alarms again.

My surgery date is September 10! Right around the corner.

Sept 15th is my surgery

I am from Catlettsburg, ky. Near Ashland. Biggest near town which isn't really big at all. Lol

Well ????

Just submitted to the insurance on Friday, waiting on approval, hopefully and prayfully I get a September date as well

@@Scout2014, my surgery is also scheduled for September 10. We'll have to check in with each other!

I can't even seem to wait until next Tuesday, I don't know how I am going to survive till September! hahahah!

What are you guys doing to prepare?

Stocking up on anything?

Every time I am at the store I pick up broth or a pack of jello. I haven't gotten into any serious preparations yet.

Surreal is a good choice of words to describe it all.

Slow motion.

I have ordered samples for just about every protein powder made. I want to try them all before my surgery to see what I like. I know everyone says your tastes may change post op but I don't want to be starving and not like what I have on hand. Does that sound insane?

Surgery date in exactly one month. Wow. Feeling nervous, anxious. @@notforthefaint the comment you made "just think we'll all be at goal weight in a year" really struck a chord for me. I've been trying to work past my anxiety about whether or not I am making the right decision, and that really helped to remind me of why I even started this journey. So thank you!

Now I am feeling that excitement again. Yay!
