Hey there September sleevers! Any one out there?

Hi! I just started my journey and I am looking forward to chatting with those of you who are on a similar time-frame as myself. My insurance is Cigna so they require a 3 month supervised diet, psych eval and sign off from my primary (which I am worried about, I haven't seen him in 5 years so what if he wont sign off? should I find someone new? suggestions?)

I am aiming for an early September surgery date, my Dr. said it is doable! I am excited and nervous.

I have learned so much already from reading about everyone else's experience it has really helped to calm me down.

I feel like I am obsessed with this and it's all I can think about. I have probably watched 200 youtube videos so far. LOL

Any tips, tricks or advice is welcome and appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

It seems like it has taken forever to get here but here I am! September 3rd! I leave at 4:00 a.m. for the hospital. Excited. A wee bit nervous and I haven't slept a wink. Instead I have been cleaning

I don't know about the rest of you but I just had a moment where I realized that next 4th of July I will be nearly half my size. It made me *SMILE* Happy 4th everyone!!

it's going really seem real once I submit to the insurance company, but I'm so not ready for the waiting game with my insurance company, I hope I get a fast approval

I hope so too!!! I am just spending my time now distracting myself with research, YouTube videos and learning as much as I can!

I think I'll have surgery at the end of August or early sept I finish my 6months in July

did you put the request in with your insurance yet, and did you have to loose every month of those 6 month's

Well I don't have to lose anything but I can't gain anything either I have lost like 5 pounds within 4 months :/ ugh

Thank you for replying, did you already put the request for the sleeve procedure in with ur insurance company

How does that make you feel? I am in the same position and it makes me feel like my life is on hold for the next 3 months. The Dr. & I have our supervised plan in place but I feel like we're both just going through the motions. It's kind of depressing!! Anyone else in this boat? Can you relate? Is this a normal feeling to have? What can I do to change my mindset so I can use this time to prepare in a productive way?

I've been in this boat since June. My doc said not to lose any weight, but I'm ready to get on with it! I started the process in January. The only thing I know to do is sample protein shakes so you have an idea of what you like, and research so you have realistic expectations.

honestly I think that's done after the 6 months diet they require, If not then I haven't , now I have to complete the labs they are asking for and I'm so overwhelmed I can't wait till this surgery it's done!!

I feel the same way, I feel very depressed I just want to have the surgery because I can't do it alone anymore I don't lose anything and if I do I'll gain the weight right away
