this happens to me when I take too big of a bite or I do not chew enough. What helps me - stand up and slowely... walk around. And take slow deep breathes.

I feel the same way however;I end up burping a lot until the food goes down. It's highly uncomfortable for me so I just eat a little and lay back and try to let the food pass. I was wondering how long is this phase gonna last because it makes me hate eating even though I have to eat to survive. I'm only 3weeks out and I'm on pureed meats like chicken fish and turkey and I had the sleeve done on May 6th I'm at a stall right now with my weight loss but I've read it common. Any advice would help

I felt the same way when i started on stage 2 i was beginning to even hate eating period and just stick to liquids. But i came to my stubborn senses and had to just take my time. Chew slow swallow slow. And take brakes in between so you dont get that stuck feeling.

chew

eat slow

chew

eat slow

don't over do the amount of food

could also be symptom of reflux but my first guess would be chewing, speed of eating, or the amount in one meal.

I'm having the same problem at the present moment... Do you think taking Tums would help?

I would not assume that it would be a big deal but you might should check with your physician/nurse first.

I am right at 3 weeks out and I am experiencing the same. I struggle with how fast I eat, but even when I work hard at going slow I struggle with this. Walking around definitely helps. I'm also struggling with fluids.

I'm at a little under 1 month post op, I experience the same thing. I chalk it up to being full so I stop eating all together. I see that as my trigger to stop and the walk around a little bit to let it work it's way down. It goes away in 5 min or so.

I keep getting food stuck too! I either feel like I can't breathe or I'm gonna vomit. I can't hardly eat anything without it getting stuck. I'm 24 days out

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
