Hi all,

The one thing I was taught as a child was never to waste food and always finish what was on my plate. (Maybe that got me where I was with my weight who knows :) )

I had my surgery in September as as time has gone on and the band has been adjusted I find almost impossible to eat more than a few mouthfuls, which is a good thing. It does however play on my conscience and I fight with myself to have one more mouthful so as not to waste. You all know what happens then lol.

Eating at home is fine, but when I eat out I feel awful leaving the food.

I am not asking for advice, I have already resulted to sharing my daughters meal when we eat out. I guess I just wanted to vent LOL.

Anyway to all out there, good luck with your journeys and enjoy the little food you can eat :)

I think wasting food is one of the hardest things! And in the UK we don't have the tradition of taking left over restaurant food home with us (but we have smaller portions in the first place!).

Actually, my husband suffered most as he started finishing off my food. And he started putting weight on as I lost it! Luckily he started out slim so was able to catch this in time! But he still fights not to finish it for me!

Even after 2 years, I am still always bothered by throwing food out. I try to save leftovers but I always end up throwing food away. My husband is not a leftover eater and I have found out I cannot eat reheated food . I guess it's the one down side of weight loss surgery but I have to learn to live with it.

I portion out my food at home even if one piece of fish becomes three meals. As for dinner out...I either bring it home or I try to share small plates with whomever I am with. If necessary, I leave it over and it gets thrown away. I remind myself that it's better to waste the money for food rather than eat what's left over and have to spend money on larger size clothes. I see it as a trade-off and that helps me to be OK with leaving it over and knowing it's going into the garbage.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
