6 months post op and not happy

Recommended Posts

I just entered my 6 months post op and so far I've only dropped 32 lbs. is this normal? I haven't lost anymore weight and I'm so discouraged. I stated out at 212 and am now 180. Any advice.....

Congrats on the weight loss thus far!!

A few questions for you: All meals should be rich in Protein. Are you meeting at least the minimum Protein requirement that your doctor and nutritionist have recommended? Are you tracking everything that you eat throughout the day? What about your fluids? Are you drinking mostly Water or are you drinking calorie laden drinks?

Are you exercising daily or most days of the week?

And lastly have you spoken with the surgeon or nutritionist about your concerns?

I'm sure there are others that can further help you as I am just 4 months post op.

Best of luck to you!

Jessica

You're 32 pounds lighter so that's a good thing! You also started at a much lower weight than many people here. I also think the above suggestion is great also. I would recommend following it and keeping your chin up. You have made strides towards a healthier you and that's worth celebrating!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
