I just want to know.

are you at goal?

If so how long did it take you?

How much weight were you looking into loosing?

Hows your mental state?

I ask because im almost 7 months and my mind isnt catching up to my physical body. I somwtimes have trouble seeing the changes.

Im 7 months out and have lost 63lbs. Im 196lbs and my first goal is a healthy bmi which would be 170lbs for my height. And from there maybe ill want to loose more. At 7 months out i felt like i would be at goal seeing as i compare myself way too much to everyone elses journey. I staled for 2 months and i believe im staling again. I just want these 26lbs gone!! Any advice on staling or just bettering myself?

You are doing fantastic. You already know about comparing yourself to other people on here. The rate you drop weight is not important. Its the fact that YOU ARE dropping weight that matters.

My advice is find a good motivation. What ever that is for you.

Its summer. Great time to up your work out game. Find some fun and exciting active things to do. Mix it up

You already know the basics.protein Water track food. Look at what you have accomplished so far!

I'm 11 months out. I hope my mind will catch up with the weight loss. A few things to try: Put some pictures up to remind yourself how far you have come. I hope you saved a piece of clothing from your high weight. It helps on days when you cant see the loss to try on the old clothes and feel how big they are to you now.

Stalls will happen. Just keep going! it will break.

You are doing well so far! I will tell you , though, that when I hit around 7 months, things seemed to change a bit and the "magic of the sleeve' seemed to go away and it became more good old fashioned work, just like before, but now I had this awesome "tool" to help me. One huge factor for me was counseling weekly with an eating disorder therapist. I started at 7 months post op, and now I'm 20 months post op and I have gone weekly since then. I know for a fact I woulnd't have been successful without working through the emotional stuff. BUt, to answer your specific questions:

are you at goal?

YES. My first "realistic goal was 150. My "dream goal" was 125. I've reached both.

If so how long did it take you? I was at my first goal by 10 months post op. I just now (2o months post op reached my "dream goal"

How much weight were you looking into loosing?I hoped to lose 100 pounds, I've lost 155.

Hows your mental state? Right now I'm stronger every day, but like I said above I've done A LOT of work on the emotional side of eating. I wouldn't not be at my "dream goal" without all of the hard work that I've done emotionally through therapy. If you haven't looked into it, I highly recommend it.

Hi!

I hit my goal around 7 months. And then I hit my stretch goal between 7 months and a year. The first year was full of so many changes. It wasn't until after my 1st Surgeversary that my emotions began level & I began to feel more comfortable. There's still times that I'm flipping through photos and I don't recognize myself. I'm pretty much obsessed with mirrors because I'm still caught off guard by my reflection.

Don't compare yourself to others. Don't discount your story ... Because, well, it's YOUR STORY... Stalls included.

Just keep going. This is a process, a lifestyle- not a race.

Best of luck! :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
