Feeling helpless and hoping for advice!

Recommended Posts

I had a band put in 21/12/2014. At first it was fine and I could eat and drink normally, after my first fill it was the same. I had my third fill in March, and after the fill I was told to have a drink of Water before I went home and stay on a liquid diet for 24 hours. I drunk the water before I left with no problems, but when I got home tried to have some Soup which caused chest pain and instantly came back up. I couldn't even drink hardly anything, and didn't even try to eat for 3 days and felt terrible. After a few weeks I was able to drink with no problems, but eating was hit and miss - some days I could eat relatively normally (slowly and chewing well) but other days I would take one bite and get stuck. Anyway, 3 weeks ago I started being able to eat normally with no sickness so decided to go for another fill on 4/5/2015. Since then I've been back to how I was before - hardly being able to drink and can't eat at all. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this, and if anyone has any advice because I'm starting to worry and feeling so rubbish at the moment.

You are allowing your band to be too tight. It should never take three weeks before you can eat normally, you should always be able to eat normally, just more slowly. The band should never stop you eating.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
