How long does it take between going to the Pre-op consult with surgeon and when u find out you're approved?

Depends on your insurance company. I got mine back real quick. When it was submitted it took 2-3 days. There is a lot you have to do before it is submitted. I had to have three months supervised diet and test ran. I had to write a letter to the insurance to put in the packet. Your doctor should be able to tell you what all you will need. It took me 5-6 months from my first visit until the surgery. Good Luck.

Had initial consult on 1/29/15, did all the pre-work and got approval 4/24/15. Had one hiccup in the middle.

I had my initial consult with the surgeon on 10/7/14, everything was submitted to my insurance on Friday 12/12/14, and I was approved on Tuesday 12/16. I had my surgery on 1/13/15. I had very few requirements. I had to do 2 months of nutrition visits, and it also took me a long time to get my psych eval scheduled.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
