How much food could you consume 6 months post op?

Recommended Posts

Nope. I'll be 8 mths next week and I still eat about 3/4 of a cup. If it's something like Soup I might be able to eat an entire cup.

I have to weigh every meal otherwise I would eat too much and I'm only five weeks out. That scares me a lot! I don't feel much restriction at 4 oz of Protein which is the limit set by my doctor. I could eat more and that is terrifying to me.

Don't be afraid. Just make sure you eat protein first. I can eat carbs like I'd never been sleeved and it scared me too, but it's like double whammy because I wasn't supposed to be eating it anyway. Protein fills me up and keeps me full. I think it has something to do w/ the fact that we start digesting starch in our mouths...

Wow, I feel like an odd ball... I can eat between 1.5-2.5 cups depending on the food. Is there anyone else at this level?

It depends on what I'm eating. I can eat a whole slice of bread but if I put Peanut Butter on it, I can only eat half. I think it's the Protein. If I don't measure I can eat a cup or more of food. If I measure and weigh, I eat way less but I'm still satisfied. Don't be discouraged. As long as you're limiting your carbs and eating protein first, you're on the right track!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
