Has everyone had WLS?

Recommended Posts

I went out a couple of times with a guy I met online who had the band. And there is a coworker of mine who was very heavy and he's probably half his size now. I heard he had WLS. I'm pretty sure that most of the folks in my office are presuming I had surgery as well even though I only told a few of my closer friends here.

When you are truly obese and lose so much weight that you are virtually unrecognizable, people will make that assumption. No one has asked me directly except one person and I did not lie..I admitted I had surgery. If she told others, so be it.

No one in my family has had WLS though I wish my sister would do it. She's morbidly obese and I worry for her health. I don't care what she looks like, but I want her around as long as possible and I know her co-morbidities can impact her life.

I think WLS is much more common than we all realize because many people tend to not talk about it, especially once it's old news and they've lost most of their weight. After I had my surgery, I found out that several people I've worked with for several years had some sort of WLS in the past.

Also, it seems to run heavily in different career fields - long hours, high stress, sedentary.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
