I've been having horrible cravings, but at the same time I don't want to eat (even though I want to eat). I'm not doing well with my water/protein intake so decided to slow it down and refocus on that stage and give myself a few more days/week to heal. I also have to work on eating slowly...the gas I get when I do eat is horrible. I was hoping I'd be that person with no issues with food...but that is not the case. It's hard to be patient. I am three weeks out (well on Monday) and I am mourning food like you would not believe.

I've had a lot of cravings as well. I'm 5 weeks out from surgery. What I've been doing is Google imaging my favorite foods and looking at them. It's helped me a lot. My husband thinks it is torture for me but I think it helps me fight the desire to eat what I know I can't. It's hard but I think each day it gets better. I used to love sweets and that is the only thing I do not crave at all.

The only thing I crave is In n Out. But, when I go with the family I can't eat is bc the smell alone makes me nauseous.

Oh do NOT do it. Trust me the dumping is NO joke. I would hate for you to find this out. Just TRUST me on tat one.

I am 22 months out and still having a problem with food.< /p>

I do get cravins, too.

Sometmes i give in and i end up regrettin it.

I do remember my first taco bell. It was 4 months post op. I had 2 bites of a regular taco, Just cheese and meat. 2 bites and i was on the toilet AND throwing up at the same time. Not fun at all.

Try just to wait, 3 weeks is way to early, my opinon. If you give in to the cravings you are gonna be in the same boat as you were before surgery.

Good luck! :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
