I was driving on day 7. You need to be completely off any narcotics first.

I tried to drive home from the airport day 3 but it was a blizzard and the visibility was shitty and the roads were icy so I ended up staying in a hotel. Drove the 5 hours home day 4. Plowed my driveway when I got home, drove all over the county running errands day 6 and back to work....which involves driving a 13,000 pound mobile veterinary office day 7. I could have driven the day after surgery but was in TJ and you gotta be crazy to drive down there!

The main concern is driving while under the influence of narcotics. If you are no longer taking pain meds I don't see anything wrong with it. I was cleared to drive at my 2 week f/u but that was because I specifically asked about it. I didn't use pain meds in the hospital or get my prescription filled upon discharge. If I had thought about it, I probably could have gotten cleared a lot sooner.

I drove on the 3rd day. I wasn't on any prescription pain medication and felt reasonably ok . No problems with driving.

My dr says you have to be off all narcotics and pain free enough to be able to check blind spots and behind you.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
