Tips for QUICK loss to make weight?

Recommended Posts

Hi. I was told I only needed 3months for my insurance and just today I called to see what was taking so long since I was told they submitted last week and am now being told I need 4months. SO, I am going in on Wednesday the 1st to count for my 4th month and she wants me to have lost 5 lbs since they saw me on the 17th. Well, I haven't gained, but didn't know I was supposed to be losing either. (Had not yet started pre-op diet)

Does anyone know of any quick tips to lose a fast 5 to make weight on Wednesday? (nothing unsafe please)

I appreciate any feedback.

@emma88... Think I should just get the pre-op going? Actually, that's sort of obvious so DUH, I should have thought of it lol... Thank you, Emma.. I have 4 days so if I go full pre-op it's a safe diet and should yield some results.. Thanks :)

I agree. The ultra low-carb pre-op diets will drop weight fast, even if some of it is Water weight. 3 Protein drinks and tons of Water. Since this isn't actually your surgery preop liquid diet you could probably add in dinner if you kept it no/low carb. Some chicken/fish with broccoli or green Beans doesn't add too many calories will keep you in ketosis for that rapid loss.

Lots and lots of Water, low sodium, carbs, sugar, calories. I would eat lean meats chicken and fish, & green vegetables. If you need to take something to Empty the Bowles.

The three day military diet. I pulled on off right before my last weigh in and lost 7lbs in three days

I just canceled my April 1st appt so I wonder if they gave it to you lol. Did they say why you need to lose 5 lbs? They have never pressured me to have a certain loss at any appointments.

I agree that doing the pre-op diet is a good idea. I know Banner had a strict one compared to some, so maybe do the two Protein shakes and one low carb sensible meal. Or go full gung-ho with Protein Shakes, Jello and sugar free popsicles. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

@@Elode ... probably a good idea.. I've not been having BM's so I will ask the pharmacist something safe to get that going. Thanks.

@majorsmama... I was told that by front desk.. she said it would give me my best shot at being prepared for an April slot. So, I do the 3 hour prep class Wednesday morning then go over for final with DrChen and that dreaded weigh in. I'm gonna do my best to make weight. I just dont get how insurance saying 3 months and we were to submit last tuesday now turns into 4months and i have more to do? When things change, I lose faith and get uneasy.

@@MoMo12onTheGo I totally hear ya. Have you lost weight over the course of the last 3 months? I don't understand that 5lb number unless you have not lost any weight the past 90 days. I would be feeling uneasy too and the most frustrating part is that nobody can explain WHY they require the extra appointment. I'm thinking about bringing it up to Dr Chen if I see him at my next appt but I know he doesn't like getting involved in the front office stuff. I just want SOMEONE in a position of power to know that we are frustrated.

Good as gross as it sounds you can get rid of a lot of weight that way.

@@majorsmama, IF the appointment cancelled is your monthly nutritional appointment, you may have to start over. I'd check beforehand before you miss any.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
