Dear Starvation mode,

Recommended Posts

Hey Starvation mode, How are you doing? Well me, I'm just peachy. Its been a while since I've seen you and I honestly cant say I am happy to see you again. Here I am minding my own business and you come along and bring everything to a halt. I am eating 800 calories a day and I understand you are just doing your job. Hey I cant hate you cause after all you are a part of me and I need to just embrace you and what you were designed to do for me but I just wanted to let you know that I am not starving, I am actually trying to lose the fat that is on my body and you want to hold on to it. Listen starvation mode, I need to level with you. You need to learn to let go. Thanks for trying to help me but I dont need you right now.

Yours truely

Bonnie

Dear Bonnie,

I'm truly sorry, but it has to be done. I asked your body how it was doing, and it told me it needed a break from all the hard work of burning fat. So I obliged. It's what I do. In fact, me and my friends got together and decided around 3-4 weeks after surgery would be a good time across the board to give all our bodies we inhabit a break for a while. We also agreed to periodically do the same thing for no particular reason throughout your process. Don't question it. It's just what we do. You're welcome.

Bonnie, please be nice to me during this time. If you give your body lots of fluids, Protein, and maybe move a little, I MAY consider letting go. It will be hard, but I will. Eventually. Then you can move on.

Can't wait to talk again in about 5 months!

Your friend,

Starvation Mode

@Babbs Love it! I am just about 3 weeks and expect the scale to stop moving any day now.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
