How to celebrate without food & drinks

Recommended Posts

I am sure I'm not the only one struggling with this. I'm 2 weeks post op today. Mine n hubby's 17th wedding anniversary is Saturday. We are struggling to find something special to do. I'm not ready for hiking, biking and other things we're looking forward to trying. Looking for ideas from all you loosers :)

My surgery was the 2nd...my wedding anniversary was St Patrick's Day and my birthday is Saturday(congrats on your anniversary). Anniversary was not good....better luck next year for us. My birthday I hope to walk stopping the flea market. (I still get very winded quickly. I took the dogs out today for about a quarter mile and had to come back.

It's hard for us to wrap our minds around celebrations that aren't centered around food. My fiancé and I have found this since we have been trying to make "date night" a weekly thing.

Because you are not up for much that is too physical, how about staying in? Rent a movie, play some cards, listen to some old music from when you first got married.

Most of all, don't put too much pressure on yourself to do too much. There are plenty of occasions coming up sooner than you think that you will feel like getting out there!

Thank you ladies, I would love to curl up at home w my man. But we have a 17 & 15 year old that never seem to leave Hahaha. Maybe we can hide in the house and play cribbage. We have always celebrated in some way, and I am sure you can guess, usually we go to dinner. Well that's out :) time to learn a new normal. My hubby is actually the one that suggested I ask on here. I appreciate the feedback.

I hear ya! I have a 14 and 15 year old and a 6 month old that don't leave either. I was afraid of that when I suggested it, but I'm sure you guys will figure something out. I don't know where you live or what is available but if it's nice you could go to a park. Not walk, just sit and talk.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
