I made it home safe and sound, and I'm feeling really good! No issues at all so far. I really liked Dr. Rodriguez and felt good about my choice after meeting him.

@@Okiebon, glad you made it home well!. I am 12 days out now and very little tenderness left. Hardest part is getting enough Protein and Water in. 19.5 lbs down since day before surgery BTW!

@@psychicrhino that is awesome! You're still feeling good and doing your walking? Are you on full liquids or pureeds now?

I've not had any problems so far. Got all my liquids and Protein (shakes) in yesterday, and am on track again today. Not having any problems getting/keeping anything down, I just have to go slower. It amazes me how fast I get full!!! dinner last night was 8 oz of Unjury chicken broth and a little bit of sugar free Jello. :)

Thank you for your posts. I am having surgery with him on June 12th And its good to hear of others experiences. He did my band 10 years ago and is now doing my revision. I am also an RN so I loved hearing your point of view. I do speak Spanish though so I will be asking for those guantes!! LoL please keep us posted on your progress.

Yes, I did. They brought down all of us who'd had surgery on Friday and we went into the room one at a time for our leak tests.

They also give you a copy of the leak test images on a CD to bring home with you, as well as a letter from Dr. Rodriguez describing in detail what was done during your surgery.

Congratulations on your surgery date! You made a great choice, IMO.

Wednesday must've been a fluke. My tummy didn't let me get as much in yesterday, and today I woke up already feeling full. Even got a little queasy after taking my morning meds. And this was supposed to be my first day on full liquids. :(

I think it changes as you go. Day 14 today and while I had some appetite the first week, really none the last few days. Have to really force myself to eat something and be mindful of the clock to eat again. The Isopure whey Protein I bought is somewhat dreadful, and the fact that it takes so long to sip a cup down makes it much worse. Started doing tuna a couple days ago (yes early I know) just to get some protein. Water is still tough. Have figured that 3 oz of anything is "full" and 4 oz is backing it up in my esophagus.

Not complaining here, just sharing.

Well, have not logged on in a few months and I am just a couple of days shy of 6 mo out. Have lost 75# since the start of the two week preop diet. And appx 65# since the surgery day. Have been stalled for about a month. May try induction again in near future to sse if I can get rolling again. No complications. Pretty darn satisfied.

I used Dr Rodriguez in Juarez March 26th 2015. I had gastric bypass. I'm almost 6 months out and down 103 pounds since preop and 83 since surgery. I've been stalled this month though. Went from a 24 pant to a 11 so far and have 35 more pounds till goal.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
