Low bmi less complications?

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering if someone with a lower bmi has less complications, has less complications? I started at 225-235 when I first went to the surgeon on May 1 2014 and now I'm 205, surgery day 3/16, bypass. I have severe sleep apnea.

I don't think it matters...I had a low BMI i was 235 the first day i saw the surgeon..lost a few lbs before surgery..what i had was type two diabetes, mild sleep Apnea and high blood pressure...All those are called co morbid conditions and thats why i got approved..

I was 248 when I started this journey last May. My surgery was 12/10/14 and I weighed 204. The main thing I get is "we've never had anyone with a BMI of 32 at three months out" and "it's only been three months and you've lost over 50% of your excess weight". I lose a little slower than others, but, I guess that's because I have less to lose.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
