Still Attend Support Group Meetings as a Vet?

I'm 15 months out and have continued attending my WLS support group meetings every month or so. Our meetings typically include 150+ people.

After all this time, it seems like I'm hearing the same stuff over and over. It was very helpful pre-surgery and for the first 6 months post-op, but I think I'm ready to stop attending.

Anyone else still attend the meetings as a Vet?

I went a few times...once preop and once post. Otherwise all online. I try to pay it forward here!

Excellent!

The fact remains that I learn more online from all various surgeries, all various lifestyles, all different choices, thanks to people who don't stay within the confines of what the surgeon's office dictates. There seem to be many choices that work for lots of people. I can see up to a year but after that, we are only there for them to survey and make $$$ off of while they don't have the big ticket surgery to work on. Plus, they are only using us as lab rats for the ASMBS's databases.

Here you answer to no one and people can touch you and you be touched a lot more freely.
