Im sick and surgery is next week!

Recommended Posts

I just came down with a sinus/head cold. I am afraid if i dont get better i wont be able to have my surgery. Surgery is scheduled for Tuesday March 17th. Did anyone else have this problem beforehand? What did you do? If its not done next week i have to wait 3 months.

Unless you have a fever day of surgery these absolutely no reason why they won't do it. It's also an entire week away. I highly doubt you'll still feel that sick by then. Keep up your fluids and call your surgeons office if you're concerned.

I had a full blown sinus infection a week before surgery. Everyone told me they would do it as long as I didn't have a fever but I was terrified they wouldn't. I used a netti pot and took cold meds (asprin free) around the clock and by the time my surgery got there I was all better. Make sure you don't take any meds your doctor has restricted. And I would look into the netti pot. I had never used one prior to that but I was desperate to use anything available. You can get them pretty cheap at any local drug store like Walgreens or CVS.

I was sick as a dog the day before surgery. Coughing, sinuses congested, the whole nine yards. CE24 was right. As long as you don't have fever and your chest is clear, there's no problem. And you're a week out. Get some Tylenol Severe Cold & Flu. I took it up until the day before surgery. Quit worrying...you'll be fine!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
