I am preop pursuing gastric bypass. Right now I only have a week of pto to take off for surgery. I haven't been at the company for at least a year so I don't qualify for fmla. Just wondering if you all think a week is enough time off ? I would have 9 days off ( including day of surgery).

If you have a desk job you may be fine. I could've went back after 1 week if I had to (I'm a HS teacher), but I took 2 weeks just to be safe. You'll be tired at first, but as long as you don't have a lot of physical activity, and no complications, you should be fine.

I went back to a desk job after a week, but the first few days I had to leave early. Mostly from fatigue and discomfort. I also had very frequent bm's which in a small office had me pretty freaked out too. Read other posts related to that situation for more details!!! Lol.

Hi congrats on you being healthy, I could have went back to work after 1 week after having surgery, after the gas came out I was feeling great after only 5 days after surgery and was driving and everything, just ensure that you get all your Water, Protein, and Vitamins in and walk as often as you can . Good luck you got this,

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
