@@tnkrrbl Okay thanks. The earliest flight from Atl arrives at 10 so I may need to leave out day before. Ruben suggested I get to airport at approx 9am.

Hey, I read where LTVSG gives you a video of your surgery. Does anyone who has had the surgery with them want to upload it to youtube?

@@tnkrrbl, yes, i live here in Tijuana. But no i haven't had the surgery yet. I'm scheduled to be sleeved on June 12th. I've been by the Oasis (or old name florence hospital) where I was going to go, but switched to LTVSG. I will try to go by there and take pics sometime this month. :). (it's a30-45 min drive from my house. Tijuana is a big city)

@@Helena101 no!! I only heard good things about them, unfortunately I switched d/t financial reasons only. By switching in able to fly my sister out here (she's an ER Nurse) to be with me the first week. And not worry about bills for a while. Oasis actually sounds like a dream, close to ocean and a Walmart (would have been great for my sis) u stay 4days 3 nights in avg. They have court yard to walk around outside. But then I realized I'm having this surgery for the long term goal and not just the hospital experience. It's too be healthier. And it takes so much worries away knowing my sister will be with me.

Hey anybody going on June 12!?!? I'm officially scheduled for that day.

Hey I stopped by the clinic today. Didn't have time to go inside, but wanted to know where it was. It's in a plaza with a lot of surgery centers, from plastic surgery, orthodontist to batiatric. It's also a couple blocks from a really cool market, that sells candy, vegetables, cheese, and spices. It's a really neat place for tourist is u have family coming with you, it's be a cool place for them to go for an hour or so. Anyway here's a couple pics, (only outside thru my my windshield)

Hello,

I am new here, and I would like to start a topic on long term vsg in Tijuana for support. I just scheduled my surgery for June. I am nervous and excited at the same time. If you have or will have your surgery with them, please share your story! I am traveling from Phoenix Arizona! :)

Diana''

Hi Diana, I'm in Peoria and just recently started my research....there are so many DRs and everyone is so happy about their selection, How does on choose, A low price is nice but I'm 61 and wonder if the rest of me is ready for what my mind is determined to do. My insurance does NOT do weight loss... They would rather pay for shots to my knees ,sleep apnea and BP medications. I'm on FB you can search for Tender2u.

Diana I hear you - there were so many. A friend said - When it's right you'll know it.

Here are some of the reasons I like this DR>

1) Price- but that's not the end all.

2) deposit is FULLY REFUNDABLE up until 1 week prior to surgery

3) This is a new surgery center with some experienced surgeons

4) I read DR Maytorena has been a trauma DR for the Red Cross-- don't remember where I read that.

5) I like a recovery house instead of a hospital. Hospitals tend to have sick people, bad germs.... recovery center has a nurse on site.

6) they use Johnson & Johnson titanium staples - told me 3 - 4 rows.

7) This dr has no reported incidents of patience having complications or going to hospital

8) I asked for the DR to call and he did same day. He Spoke English well ENOUGH

Thank you - looks like a broken window. LOL --- I know it won't look like the US.

I don't think I'll have time to show. Day 1 arrive - surgery; Day 2 move to recovery house Day 3 final tests and home. MAYBE if I feel good enough on day .... I'm hoping to get to at least a Pharmacy

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
