Hi there, I haven't had my surgery yet, and I am in the research stage. Bariatric pal removed a very nice and helpful thread of posts regarding options in Mexico. I am thinking about having it with long term vsg for $2,999. I am trying to find people that have already had surgery with them. N.T

Hi everyone, I joined this forum last week. Now that I have decided to go this route and end my weight problems, I have seriously started doing my homework. I don't have that much money and insurance is a real pain. I opted to go to Mexico since it's one of the top countries with successful bariatric surgery procedures. It seems that Tijuana has top bariatric surgeons and their prices are nothing compared to the US. Now I just need to know more about Dr. Maytorena. Does anybody know him? Thank you, Nancy T.

Hey! I just found out that Dr. Jalil won't be in the team….apparently some issues with his patient facilitator. Does anybody know doctor Maytorena? he is the other doctor…… I am reading his credential and seems to be very experienced, but not sure. anybody has had surgery with him???

Thanks! That's the information I received as well. I asked one of their coordinators about the "too good to be true" price, and he said that it's due to the marketing strategy of the brand new surgical center. The price might not stay for long.

I called today, and they sent me the information. Everything seems to be legit. I've been researching, and I haven't found anything bad about the doctors. If everything goes well, I think I am going to schedule with them. I'll keep posting…... Thanks everyone...

I got to this topic by searching for bariatric surgeons in Mexico. My sister went abroad for her mommy makeover with Dr. Amaya in Mexicali. I went with her, and we were both very happy with the experience and her results. By any chance does anyone know of Long Term VSG's for $2999???? It just sounds too good to be true...
