Diet during supervised weight loss period?

Recommended Posts

What did the dr/NUT put you on for your supervised WL period? I am currently taking Contrave, attending WW, but don't count points. I have been battling the same 5-8 lb for a couple months. When I did my pre op visit, they did the Resting Energy Expenditure test and mine was 85% of average. So since I am only burning 1780 cal at rest, they (NUT) said I should eat 1500 cal to 1800 cal on heavy workout days.

Any tips? I only have to do this for 3 months, but I am still hoping the insurance sees 4 years if WW records, and they will grant the approval. I meet with the dr on 3/12. TIA!

I was already on the following plan when I started my 3-month supervised plan:

  • 1200 calories a day + exercise calories
  • Low carb (10g or less per meal)
  • Lean Proteins
  • Exercise 4-5 days a week (3 days weights + cardio, 2 days cardio only). My cardio preference is HIIT on elliptical.

My nutritionist approved my plan an I continued doing that until my pre-op.

Best wish on your journey!

Thanks! I am cutting cardio to 2 days a week, and lifting 3-4, per the exercise dr I saw at the clinic. I need to email him to see if I can do cardio with the weights!

Adjusting from 2200 calories to 1500 has been a "shock" so I am glad it's not to 1200, yet.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
