How long does it take to know if you are approved?

My name is Roni my refural got sent in last Friday and I haven't heard anything. Should I call them? I'm new to all of this and to this site. Not sure if I'm doing this right. I'm not sure how to add friends or anything. I tried to fill in my profile but I don't see anything. And I'm not sure how to add pictures. Can I do it from this app or do I have to go to Google and go to the site? Any help on this would be great. Thank you and I'm looking forward to talking to you and making new friends

You can call the insurance company and check on the status. My office told me it usually takes 2 weeks but they can take up to 30-45 days.

My doctor's office sent the information in to Blue Cross Blue Shield on 2/10. They told me it could be anywhere from 2-8 weeks until the insurance company approves it. I called the insurance company on 2/12 to make sure that they got everything the doctors sent in, to put my mind at ease, and found out that they had approved it on 2/10. So mine took less than a day to approve. Every insurance company is different, but they will let you know the status if you call them.

Ivy4u-took your advice and called to see if they received the paperwork (I was actually calling about another claim but thought I'd ask). I was approved. My surgeon's office just got my surgery clearance yesterday afternoon. So this was 24 hrs. ( Less than, really) I'm really happy.

I've been worried because my company just announced they are making changes to the medical plan that take effect April 1. It would just make the surgery more expensive so hoping to get an approval soon so that I can get surgery done in March.

Mine was sent yesterday and approved today. My doctor said they usually take up to 14 days. Every insurance company is different.

I'm still waiting on my psych eval before they send my letter. I'm so happy to hear all these good stories though!

I agree with the above statements I would call mine took 24 hours after my insurance company received it and I have Bluecare network. Congrats on your choice on being healthy.

I'M APPROVED!!!!!

I have Tricare Retired Reserve which is managed by United Health Care. My paperwork was received on Friday, Feb 13th. Monday the 16th was a holiday.... and it was approved on Thursday the 19th! So, only 4 business days.

Now to get the surgery scheduler to call me back....ugh!

Tricare has a 6month managed weight loss requirement + Psych + sleep study.
