  1. Tip to you all! Do not buy too much of any protein shakes, powders and ect. Your taste buds WILL change after surgery. Mine was on 2/23 I am almost 2 weeks post op. 2 protein shakes a day along with a small meal under 300 calories is the good. I did Lean Cuisines, Health Choice because they had lots of delicious varieties so you dont get bored. Good luck to you all!
  2. Mines was the 23rd...The pain is better then what I thought. I just dread having to cough, its the worse. Good luck on your journey!
  3. He said what? What is wrong with dome of these surgeons. They can be so insensitive at times. You're gonna shit him up and everyone else. What is considered enough weight to that man? Ive seen people gain for their pre op and still got the surgery done.
  4. Thank you so much I really needed to hear this...I go for my first post op Thursday I pray my diabetes is gone. I got my glucose numbers low months before this surgery. When is your first appt?
  5. Far as protein I can get maybe 30 grams a day but the protein causes me to cough up a mucus like substance as if I had a cold. I have a small feeling of regret like what did I do myself and other times I feel okay. My husband tries to encourage me and tell me I will do great but rightnow my pain has not gotten any better. My cousin tells me I will feel like this in the beginning but once the pain stops and I get healthier I would see the benefits and feel amazing. I have had laporascopic surgery before and was fine within a few days. Now having a 1, 5, and 7 year old who needs me everyday makes the healing process harder even though I know this was a longer and more serious surgery procedure then before. I think im being impatient and just ready to atleast be pain free.
  6. How are you feeling today? Did or do you feel emotional? My emotions are all over the place and completely out of nowhere. I was feeling so excited up until today. Ugh
  7. I was thinking the same. My cousin told me your full if your chest starts to hurt. She had bypass done 4 years ago
  8. Im doing better then I thought I expected, trying to get some movement in and walk around. Im just being impatient and ready for the pain to stop. Lol, how are you?
  9. I know thats right, good for you! A decision loke this is not easy to tell everyone. We live in such a judgemental word. Sometimes its best to tell a few instead of a million Lol. As of now I feel nothing but pain Lol. No emotions or hormones just yet
  10. Thats sad, I wish my husband would. He helped me take a shower and washed the first day home. Henis a very strong and secure man. If he loves you his love should be unconditional. Did he pay attention to his vows? Good luck honey! Just try to seek some help if you feel the marriage is worth it. But never let a man abuse your confidence and self esteem.
  11. Its very normal, my right side hurts more then the left where my stomach is located. And I have a deeper dent on the left where it hurts. Its from all muscle and tissue they have to cut through. I am a 2/23 bypass
  12. I have that plan in Ohio and they required the supervised diet. I am 5 days post op
  13. Its good to have evennif they dont require it, some places are different buy EVERYONE I know had one. H-Pylori can be serious and lead to cancer if untreated. I had a upper endoscopy done and tested positive for H Pylori. Thanks god I was tested because I would have not know until I caught stomach cancer. I am now 5 days post op bypass. Good luck
  14. This is a good place to start! There are some really helpful forums on here with that kind of stuff. Support is important to have even if its 1 person, or you will stall and become depressed. I truly hope you find the help you need to get thru this storm. God bless you
  15. I did it from my phone but I notice you have to keep pressing that menu area at the top and the timeline. And yes that gas pain is the worse I have been passing since thursday. Make you wonder how much was put in us. I have that same fweling and still trying to figure it out. Those gas x pills are magic Lol
  16. Click the 3 lines at the top left next to timeline. Then click on the icon of the person at the right top hand. Then just hit the picture symbol below your blank profile pic and go from there.
  17. Congrats I just came home yesterday from RNY and that is my only problem in having is the gas pains. But once I was able to let go boy did I. Sip your water and take your protein it is so important in how fast you heal from this. Try to get dome rest and reach out to us. This is a excellent and motivating forum to be a part of. God bless you honey!
  18. Hello honey bun ???? I too had the RNY done on 2/23 unfortunately due to the bad gas pains I didnt come home until thursday/yesterday. I have also only told a few family members about my procedure. I basically told my circle of support. The ones I knew would cheer me on and motivate me. I still have yet to put up a profile pic I think I will tonight. Anyways how are you feeling?
  19. Everyone pain is different. My cousin keft the night OF her RNY but me, I had to stay from monday-thursday due to the bad gas and stomach pains. I just came home yesterday. I was so miserable being away from my husband and children but he made me stay a extra night to feel better. See how you feel first then take it from there. Good luck
  20. I fell of the wagon a few times during the pre op diet and I starved myself 3 days before surgery. My bypass surgery was yesterday and my weigh im before the procedure I had lost 14 lbs in those 2 weeks. Good luck, its hard at first but you have to stay determined and focused.
  21. Everyone is different I have heard so many different stories to where I am just like I will wait and see for myself....I tooooooooo am having surgery tomorrow the 23rd at 12:30 p.m.....Good luck to all of you guys that have had or will be having this procedure done.
  22. I had to do 6 months prior which really turned out to be 5 months because they used my surgeon/nutrition visit as one of the weigh ins...It all depends on the insurance, I know people who only had to do 3 months or no months of supervised weight loss at all before surgery. My surgery date is tomorrow!
  23. Same to you hun! Thats awesome you are feeling great so soon and without any meds is amazing.....Im hoping to be released the next day also, so im going to try my best to do everything thats required. I got my liquid vicodin prescription filled last week and its put up in the closet ready in case I need it when I come home. Lol, hopefully I wont need it either. Good luck to you on your journey! This is a huge commitment towards a healthier life and I am ready for the change.... ????????????????????
  24. I take 3 a day, 2 hours a part. My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow at 12 noon.. A typical day for me would be 1 multivitamin when I wake, 1 calcium chew for breakfast, 1 calcium chew for lunch, 1 multivitamin for dinner and 1 calcium chew before bed. As long as they are 2 hours apart from each other you can take them at the times that works best for you.
  25. Mines was sent in on a friday and approved on tuesday. Two business days! I kept calling day and night so it wouldnt hurt just to check on thing. Good luck!
