Hard lump on left side

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm eight days post-op and today I noticed that when I stand up there is a hard lump on the left side of my abdomen. It's at the incision site below the breast. It is sore when I press on it, but no more or less sore than the rest of my left side. Is this something I should possibly be concerned about or is this a by-product of getting sleeved?

I have a tiny hard knot on one of my recent incisions. It's scar tissue, however I would suggest you get that looked at by your Dr. Can never be too cautious.

Thanks! I suspected scar tissue as a possibility, it just feels so weird. T disappears when I lay down but I'm very aware of it when I'm standing upright

I had the same thing at one of my incision sites...I asked my surgeon about it ,and he says it's common. I'm now over a year out, and although it's much smaller and has no pain, it's still there and pretty much unnoticeable

@@GeminiSleever - I have one right above my umbilicus. It's fairly large...about the size of a silver dollar. When I went for my 1 week post-op, the NP told me it was a hematoma (pooling of blood) beneath the surface. I'm a nurse and that makes sense. She said it will eventually go away!

It's too soon for scar tissue, unless you've had surgery in that particular place in the past.

@@Kellsbells thanks so much for your response. Yours sounds about the same size as mine. And I guess since this was my very first surgery it wouldn't be scar tissue.

Same thing for me as kellsbells. It was a pooling of blood. Was gone like two weeks later for me.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
