Impatiently waiting...June sleevers?

  • Popular Post

Going through my insurance required six month supervised diet. Very anxious for time to pass to get my surgery. I finish in May, so am optimistically looking at June for surgery. Anyone else around my stage? Isn't the wait killing you????

That's my date too. I'm just trying to stay calm. Best of luck

Hello! I am 10 days away from my surgery (June 18th) and having a lot of mixed emotions: excited, anxious, worried, happy... I began the journey in January with a surgeon that my boss used for her lapland after I was diagnosed with diabetes on January 14th. They walked me through the Aetna expectations and were clear about how tough they could be. After psych evals, 4 months of nutritionists, medical clearance, stress tests, I lost 50 lbs, and was approved two weeks ago by my insurance company. It was surreal accomplishing the first part of my goal and now I can't wait for the next part. Best of luck, fellow June sleevers!

June 17th will be here before we know it! Anyone else on the 17 th?

I'm also scheduled for the 17th! Yikes! :)

I am 8 days out. I too have made a list of the why I am doing this. I have moments of panic, but I stop and take a deep breath and know this is the right thing for me to do.

wooohooo! had my final insurance appt friday and I am scheduled for June 23. I start the 2 week liquid diet tomorrow which I know will be tough but I am just so excited that it is finally here! I had a mini food funeral this weekend, but was really good about portions and didn't binge so it was a nice sign that things are moving in a positive direction.

@@cmhueto No, you are definitely not the only one!! I am constantly looking at before and after pics as well. i also have started following people on instagram who have been sleeved. I love seeing everyone's progress to keep me motivated during my liquid pre-op diet.

That is an amazing idea to write down all of your reasons and post them everywhere. I am going to do that too. I think I might write them on my bathroom mirror with a dry-erase marker.

My surgery is still scheduled for June 15. I can't believe it has gone so fast. My consultation with the Dr. was on May 14 and only a month later I am having surgery. That is crazy to me but it must be a sign that I am moving in the right direction. Everything is going so fast and I have become more and more anxious but I recently started meditating which is helping tremendously!

What do you do to help ease the anxiety of upcoming surgery.

I love instagram it's been so motivating . Honestly I just talked to people who had who are going through it on here etc you just have to remember these people are good at what they do.your surgeon your hospital team. It is their job day in and day out. These last two days I just keep thinking of all the things I ll be able things accomplish after

Good luck...the liquid diet was very difficult for me. Success and best wishes to you!

I had my final preop appt today. Echo-cardiogram, pulmonary test, ultrasound of the veins in both my legs, cardiac stress test, and my preop class. 3 hours whew!

Unless i hear something by Wednesday otherwise (no new is good news) regarding my cardiac stress test, and I don't expect to, I am still on for June 24th! Preop diet starts Wednesday June 10th :)

They also sent me home with a machine to attach to my legs while I am sleeping to prevent blood clots after surgery.

It's finally getting real!!

@@thecamiraye, that's a good idea. Good luck with the clear liquids!! mine is basically an Atkins Diet. And now that I'm home (days of work) I'm struggling bad. Gotta fill my time with something else!!
